About Declan
"Technical foundations like double stops, tone production, and ear training form the basis of the work I do with you. Tuning by ear, scales and arpeggios, and music theory are essential components for any dedicated student. Developing your rhythm and timing alongside vibrato and intonation requires a steady hand and a calm mind.
From 4-year-old beginners to high-schoolers focused on college auditions, I support students of all ages by normalizing the study of extended techniques and quartertones as part of a standard curriculum. My 13 years of playing with the New York Philharmonic and teaching from my Chicago studio informs this approach, leaving the path forward clear."
