About Douglas
I am a committed Saxophone tutor with 6+ years of experience and have successfully guided around 150 students in developing their musical abilities. I teach students of all levels and focus on steady, meaningful progress.
My teaching style is student-centered and encouraging. I tailor lessons to suit each learner’s pace and interests, creating a positive and motivating learning environment. I believe learning music should be both disciplined and enjoyable.
Lessons focus on building strong fundamentals such as proper breathing, embouchure control, tone quality, finger coordination, and rhythm accuracy. As students advance, I introduce expressive playing techniques, improvisation, and performance skills.
In addition to saxophone performance, I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training. My goal is to help students become confident, expressive saxophone players with a strong musical foundation.

My teaching approach for Saxophone focuses on technical accuracy, musical understanding, and confident performance through Communication, Accountability, and Integrity. I personalize lessons according to each student’s learning pace and goals.
I teach breath control, tone consistency, articulation clarity, and rhythm accuracy in a systematic, easy-to-follow manner. Open communication creates a supportive environment and motivates students. Accountability is encouraged through structured practice schedules, regular assessments, and clear progress tracking.
I provide honest and constructive feedback to guide continuous growth. Integrity ensures professional and dedicated instruction. Along with Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Harmony basics, and Improvisation techniques to help students become versatile musicians.
