About Mardelle

I am success-minded! I'm a native American, yet I've learned 3 languages, & am bilingual. Personal experiences living with internationals aid in my understanding of the academic, social, and cultural challenges. Holding a MA's degree in TESOL & Linguistics, I've taught at highly acclaimed universities: UC, Irvine, UC, Riverside, & CSU, Fullerton in CA for 25+ years. I tutor writing, vocabulary, reading, listening, speaking, pronunciation, & grammar needed for communication. I specialize in TOEFL Test prep! Presentations, Linguistics, & job & school interviewing skills are additional skills I tutor. As a patient, empathetic, achievement-driven, cheerful tutor, I will help you isolate your most critical needs & discover with you the best ways to achieve them!

About the lesson

Hi! I'm a positive, patient, understanding, friendly & experienced ESL teacher/tutor for Academic ESL. I work with each student at their level plus a little more. Grade 5 through university are my most common student grades. If you are a student who wants to enter, or have already entered, the university, I can be a great help! I have taught mostly in Intensive English programs. Writing is a common issue--I can easily help you improve there; vocabulary, grammar, and organization are necessary parts we can improve. Reading, Listening, Speaking, Presentation skills & the TOEFL iBT Test Prep are common classes for me to teach. SAT test prep is another skill I tutor! I'm familiar with international students, from such as many Middle Eastern countries, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, & Vietnam.
The pleasant, insightful lessons will be student-centered: we'll look at your work, your product, analyze it to find out what you need to improve, discuss how to improve, and move forward. I'm a positive focused, optimistic, patient & understanding tutor. Let's get started!
