About Menka
I am an enthusiastic, talkative, passionate scientist that is transitioning towards teaching only. I got a PhD in Physics in France in 2015, worked as a scientist for a few years, then started creating my own science workshops for children and working as SEN teaching assistant in primary. I have been tutoring on and off for years, depending on my schedule. I am passionate about science, teaching, open access projects and scientific outreach.

I teach Maths with a focus on mastery and independence. I create exercise progression lists that suit my students and use them to diagnose problems. I use visual aids, examples and analogies to explain concepts and a carefully planned exercise schedule to make that knowledge last (using spaced repetition). Lessons are 45mins or 1h long, depending on the student's wishes and ability to focus. I have a PhD in Physics, have been working as a tutor for 3 years with 1:1 students and groups of students in summer schools. I am experienced working with SEN students (ASD, ADHD) in primary.

I did my PhD at the same time as Menka, and was able to witness Menka's impressive dedication to teaching. She is excellent at explaining difficult concepts, and is also very creative and always introduce everyday life examples into math and physics problem. The is also very patient, understanding, and pleasant. Therefore, I highly recommend Menka as a teacher, with the guarantee that you won't regret your choice.
Menka is not only super qualified for a tutor, having a PhD in physics, but she also has a very positive and encouraging attitude with the students. She has also experience working with neurodivergent and beaviorally atypical students, and her patience seems to be endless.
