About Batsonb
I taught high school for 36 1/2 years. For several years my “study hall” time was assigned to be the chemistry/physics tutor. Many students would return later to say that my information and techniques had helped them on their exams.
I want to discuss with the students what their basic confusion is and what exactly they don’t understand. Then we can work together to clarify any confusion. This should lead the student to a better understanding of the topic.
First of all, I know not all students that take Chemistry are going to become chemists. I’m pretty sure we don’t want that many chemists. I understand that Chemistry can sometimes be daunting, but I want to help students overcome their difficulties and become outstanding chemistry students. The final outcome of a good introductory chemistry course is to produce good problem solvers.

I have a particular love for chemistry starting from before I even took my high school course. In college, I took an extra 5 credits so I would be well-versed in the subject I was going to teach. I have retired and miss interacting with students and professionals in the field. I want to interact with learners again and help spread the understanding of the subject that I love. I will take the time to fully answer student questions and guide them along a path of understanding. I don’t want to just get answers for student homework; I want to help them understand the concept so they can solve similar problems in the future without me.
