About Susan

I am a professional retired educator with over 25 years of teaching experience. I left teaching with a promotion to become a middle school principal, and left principalship to become a Director with BCPSS. I have worked with students, teachers, parents, and administrators with instructional programs and schoolwide academic planning. I have worked in inclusion classes with students with IEPs as well as students that were non-verbal. I have managed student discipline, attendance, and behavior. I have coordinated school improvement planning as well as reviewed classroom instruction. I would be honored to continue within my scope of education.

My teaching methodology can prepare all modalities of learning, the visual, audio, and kinesthetic. My belief is that all children are capable of mastering a skill if they are given the right utensils to achieve.
I have taught over 630 students in my lifetime. My teaching experience was over a 25-year period and exemplary. This experience has afforded me the knowledge that beginning educators do not possess.
Students should be given structure, guidance, examples, and feedback. The lesson should begin with an objective, skill, example, and I do, and lastly, we do together. Home assignments help to reinforce the day's learned activity.
My major interest lies within second to fifth grades. I also teach adult education for adults needing to take the GED course.
