About Blair
I have degrees in electrical engineering and English. I am a good communicator with an eye for how to help students understand and practice basic mathematical methods. I am new to tutoring other than with my own children, one of whom is a college graduate.

My first priority is to understand the student's depth of understanding in the topic(s) of study. Since understanding math and mathematical physics requires a complete set of skills, built over time, this establishes a starting point for all tutoring activities by identifying what individual skills must be mastered. My method is to work, one-on-one, with the student by first demonstrating a problem solving method and then observing their performance on similar problems. I try to understand any comprehension issues that prevent the student from mastering the current topic and provide an alternate path to understanding. Math and physics mastery only comes with working extensive practice problems. The basic plan is to provide these problems along with the appropriate instruction until the material is mastered.
