About Mark

I enjoy teaching. My original Indiana State teaching certificate was in teaching Speech and Theater, but I started off teaching English to middle school students in Southern Indiana in 1985. That was after I had been an exchange student in Hangzhou, Zheijiang, China in 1983 and a student teacher in Dublin, Ireland in 1984. In 1987, I moved overseas and started teaching ESL in Tokyo. From there, I moved to Australia and then Abu Dhabi before returning to the U.S. in 2012. I finished up my career at Michigan State University and finally, Purdue University Northwest before retiring last October here to Plainfield with my wife. Now, we are close to our grandkids, so we are very happy.

About the lesson

I will listen to you speak and see your writing and then determine what I can do to help you. I try to make lessons interesting and hopefully, fun.
I use the PPP (Presentation, Practice and Production) technique that I learned years ago when I studied with the British Council and Cambridge University.
I have taught ESL at all levels from absolute beginner to advanced.
