Retired IT Executive teaches math/IT-related topics from Texas, over 40 years experience

Methodology

- I am an easy-going teacher who has a lot of patience
- My style is to follow the school book (building-block learning), help the student understand what the concepts mean in terms they can relate to, and have them teach them back to me so I know they understand the material
- There are a lot of tricks and methods when learning math and IT. I like to share my knowledge of them so my students have an advantage over their competition

Background

- Retired senior military IT officer who trained his peers/subordinates in math and IT throughout his career
- Earned four academic degrees (2 BS, 2 MS) and over a dozen professional certifications
- Taught college courses in various subjects since 1984 (popular with my students)
- Have a knack for showing how to do simple math - algebra in easy-to-understand terms
- Successfully applied math and IT to other professional pursuits (consulted several businesses)

David's resume

Individual or Group Math/Information Technology (IT) Tutor – Varied Subjects

CAREER SUMMARY
Innovative tutor of multiple subjects, based on a diverse career working in the military (US Air Force Senior IT officer, supporting various national missions in nuclear war planning, ballistic missile tactical warning, space track, aircraft detection and intercept, global weather satellite support, and global computer/network security and resource protection), information technology (IT, including software development/maintenance/management, communications, technical requirements management for multi-billion- and multi-million-dollar national IT systems, staff work and leadership of small-to-large organizations), project management, acquisitions, contracting, process improvement and Quality methods, business/IT consulting, education and training, insurance, telecommunications billing, emergency response and business continuation, educational testing and scoring, engineering, medical billing, and city utilities. Earned four academic degrees (2 MS, 2 BS), one from a Service Academy (very selective entrance requirements. Achieved a 3.8/4.0 GPA on the three non-Service Academy degrees (Academy GPA was based on “the curve” against fellow cadets)). Earned over a dozen professional certifications, including one as a national educational trainer. Taught various courses at the college and professional workforce development levels since 1984, including several to a local Toyota manufacturing facility’s sub-contractor companies. Served as a volunteer “training officer” in several professional workplaces, when there was a need to help others learn new concepts to perform their jobs. Tutoring is often successful when the student’s point of view is first understood.
