About John
After spending 25 years in entertainment business, I decided to join my wife in teaching ESL in China. We spent an exciting 16 years in Beijing at 3 different universities and travelled to every part of China and Asia.
I specialized in teaching English Listening, Speaking and taught U.S. & U.K. Culture.
I retired in 2015 and started tutoring ESL online. It has been a truly great experience.

I practice the communication approach in which I guide and encourage my students to listen well and speak well. I try to prepare them for work, travel and fun with English.
I like to treat each student as a unique individual and adapt my lessons and teaching strategy to their needs.
