About Hank
I have practiced criminal law, civil rights, and habeas corpus. My college degree is in American studies. Before I became a lawyer, I taught in junior college. This class teaches one how to think. In my later years after retiring, I devoured books concerning civil rights. I keep up with current events, particularly as they relate to the contest between the power of the executive branch, Congress, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

My lesson plan begins with Article 111 of the Constitution, the judicial branch and the power of judicial review. Discussing historical cases and how they affected American history—concentrating on slavery, freedom and equal rights. my lessons breathe life into the characters of the adversaries. Anyone interested in history, American Studies, and civil rights should appreciate this course. Far from boring.
