About John
I have taught biology and geology at the college level for 8 years and at the high school level for over 20 years. Whereas I specialize in Anatomy and Physiology, general Biology, and Earth/Space science, I have two graduate degrees in Paleontology and have published articles on my research.

Having taught at a public high school for over 20 years, I am very aware of the academic needs of high school students. Often, I have found that in order for a student to understand a difficult structure or process (e.g. photosynthesis within a chloroplast), one must first understand the fundamentals, for example how chemical bonds dictate how a reaction proceeds or how materials pass across a membrane. Thus by mastering these simpler ideas, a student can apply them to more complex systems.
