During my forty-year career as a professor of English and World Literature, I taught a total of 270 courses with students ranging from college freshmen to senior levels. I have also tutored numerous students at all proficiency levels privately as well as in person, including ESL students. I specialize in teaching fundamental English grammar and reading skills, and each tutoring session includes practical exercises applying what students have learned, which allows students to progress rapidly toward becoming proficient. I tailor the exercises and readings to material that is particularly relevant to the students and not only educational but also interesting and enjoyable. I also interact with students in a positive, encouraging, and interactive manner, motivating them to master the material while allowing them to learn at their own pace.
