I am a retired teacher, and even though I love retirement, I miss teaching. I love teaching reading and math to elementary students remotely. I like meeting students anywhere in the United States.

About Sandy
I was a teacher for 30 years. I miss laughing, and having fun with young people. My favorite time to spend with children was when I was able to read to them. Especially when I brought out books they never heard of before, and would then rush to the library and want to check out the same book I was reading to them. If you want to know, I went to college, and earned two degrees. One was titled BS of Education, and the other was MS of Education. When I started teaching I was a 2nd grade teacher, a 3rd grade teacher, an Instructional Coach and a Dean of Students. So I have worked with a lot of students, and am anxious to do so again.

My lessons would be for elementary students .A typical reading lesson would be learning new vocabulary words from the new story. We would read the story in small group or individually.
As we are reading, check for comprehension. Finish the book, check for understanding, and ask if they liked the book. Have students write individual sentences about the story, "what was the problem in the story", and "how was the problem solved". Then draw a picture to support their answer. They would share their work if time would allow.
