These lessons would be for students in grades PK-4. I am a hands-on teacher who believes in giving students what they need to be successful readers. Phonics is important along with learning sight words, and teaching word families. a typical lesson would begin with a story as motivation to become a good reader, as children should have someone read to them daily. Next, explain what the objective for today will be if it has something to do with the book read, we will use the book and other resources to accomplish the objectives. It could be going on a letter hunt to finding specific words and their meanings in the context of the story.
