About Ted
I have done a variety of things in my life. Although teaching and tutoring for 36 years, I also owned a bar and pizza shop, worked as a sheet metal machine operator while in college, logged and cut firewood, and was a lifeguard. I am the father of two boys, have one grandson, and lots of hobbies to keep me busy. I'm a pretty good horse race handicapper, sailor, golfer, and bridge player.

I try to start each lesson with a problem that the lesson will address. For instance, in a DC circuit board, I will wire the circuit to have bulbs of equal magnitude light up at different intensities, and ask if anyone can explain why. After having students answer, I would show how the series and parallel parts of the circuit have different amounts of current going through them and why. That might be a lesson for college preparatory physics.
