About Maureen
For five years I taught French to elementary students. For 25 years I taught computer applications and most recently web development apps to Junior High students.
Over the years, it became evident that seniors are sometimes reluctant to tackle online tasks, such as downloading .pdf files and printing them, adding images to email and social media, editing the images for size and appropriate background, paying bills online and generally feeling comfortable with technology - outside of general phone usage.

Having taught in a classroom for years and online the past two years, I have become familiar with "hybrid" methods and techniques to use in online classes. Typically, we introduce the lesson concept with a brief explanation containing examples. We discuss the goal and hands-on assignment for the session. I firmly believe in guided, individual hands-on work with positive, detailed feedback as the student goes through the task.
Junior High students enjoy learning JavaJS through drawing with code. HTML can be learned quickly to create effective web page content. Seniors often have specific questions that can be addressed step-by-step in the online session.
