About Noel

I spent 34 years teaching elementary school, and absolutely LOVED it!! Most of those years were spent teaching kindergarten, where I taught thousands of students how to read and write and built strong educational foundations to carry them forward. Being a successful kindergarten teaching involves making learning as FUN as possible, so the kids don't even realize they are learning!! It's carefully planned and guided discovery learning....of the BEST KIND for that young age!!!
In my last ten or so years of teaching, I taught MATH to the upper elementary grades as a math interventionist. My job was to prepare these students to be successful on their state testing.
I take great pride in building strong, interactive, and engaging relationships with my students so that they WANT to learn and they strive to make progress. Let me help your student find a love for learning!

About the lesson

Having spent 34 years in elementary schools, and the first 20 of those years in kindergarten, I have a deep understanding of how kids learn developmentally.... in both reading and math! Most elementary teachers know the developmental levels of literacy, but I made it my mission to internalize the levels of learning numeracy (mathematical knowledge of all types!)! Once I understood this, it became easy for me to identify a students' current level of performance and to apply lessons that helped them bridge naturally to the next level. I believe students learn best through playing GAMES that make engagement fun and active, and love to throw in a little silliness from time to time! Your student will LOVE working me!
