About Fergus

Hey! I’m Fergus, a high school student who just spent an unforgettable year living, studying, and eating way too many pains au chocolat in France.

Who I am: A Y13 high school student with a slight obsession for learning and teaching languages.
What drives me: I’m huge on connection and creativity—whether I’m drawing, sewing, acting, singing, or diving headfirst into a new language, I love finding ways to express ideas and connect with people.

Why I Do This
Honestly? Because French is way too cool to be trapped behind boring textbook exercises and stressful exam prep. When I was living abroad, I had to dive headfirst into the culture and figure it out on the fly. That experience didn't just give me a solid grip on formal grammar and structure (well past standard high school levels)—it completely unlocked my spoken French. My conversational fluency is actually sharper than my official DELF B2 certification at this point, purely because daily life forces you to adapt, pick up real-world phrasing, and just talk.

About the lesson

Fresh back from a year living in France, and looking to help out anyone trying to get a grip on the language—whether you're trying to pass a class or actually figure out how people talk in real life.

Living abroad meant diving headfirst into the culture, so I picked up a strong grasp of the grammar and structural side of things (well past standard high school requirements), but more importantly, actual conversational fluency. My spoken French is honestly sharper than my official DELF B2 certification at this point, because you learn pretty fast when you're forced to use it every day.

Whether you're struggling to keep up with schoolwork, prepping for exams, or just want a relaxed space to build up your confidence without feeling awkward, I can adapt to whatever level you're at. No rigid, structure, but case by case help.
