About Leah

I am currently a 4th year Biomedical Engineering Student on track to complete my Master's degree next year. I am by no means a genius but I do believe there are methods to achieving better grades, methods which allowed me to achieve all As in my Junior Cert and all H1s in my Leaving Cert! I also took Junior Cycle Maths and Science and Leaving Cert Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics so I know exactly what it is like to be in your shoes! I started teaching grinds a few years ago when I realized how satisfying it is to pass on tips and tricks that I wish someone had told me when I was in school. About the lesson

All students are entitled to an initial trial session (free of charge) where I can assess what level the student is currently at and what their academic aims and goals are - from there we can devise a plan that aligns with those goals. (Parents may attend this session if they do so wish).

I will be focusing on using study methods that have been scientifically proven to be more effective than rote-learning or any other 'traditional' learning methods. These methods have worked for myself and many of my peers. By breaking down subjects into their various components and tackling different subjects with different techniques we can make the studying process a lot less daunting and more manageable and encouraging for students! A typical lesson consists of the following layout:
- If there is a class test coming up or a particular homework/continuous assessment assignment due soon this will be targeted first to ensure the student can keep on top of current class work
- Then we will begin revising a topic from the study plan we created, for example: starting from the topics the student struggles the most with and working backwards to topics the student finds easiest
- To finish off the lesson, we will do sample past paper questions based on the topic revised and I will set some basic work to encourage the student to continue working until the next lesson we have together

Classes with me will be 100% customized to the student's needs as everyone learns differently!

With one-to-one lessons, the content will be tailored to suit your strengths and weaknesses and notes will be individualized also!

With group lessons, experience the benefit of learning with others as they might ask questions you wouldn't think of yourself! (See details further down)

Students will receive Distinction/H1 standard notes, sample answers, past papers to assist them with their learning. In between lessons, my students can email/WhatsApp me with any queries they have and I will try my best to respond as soon as possible :)

If you book more than one student with me (for the same lesson) the price will be reduced by 20% off per student (ie. personalised group sessions).

One student: €35/hr
Two students: €30/hr each
Three students: €25/hr each
Four students: €20/hr each

This works great if you have family (siblings/cousins) or friends in your class so you can learn together and ask questions with people you feel comfortable with!
