About Amy
Hi! My name is Amy! I'm a current student at Rice University in Houston, TX studying Computer Science and Creative Writing. I graduated from duPont Manual High School (MST magnet) with a 4.4 GPA and a 36 on the ACT. I love math and reading, and I'm willing to share that love with other students! I often worked with younger kids throughout high school tutoring math, but I can help in college prep for high school students as well. I believe that education is best learned when subjects are viewed as individual artforms, and I want my students to be able to see their education through that perspective in order to get a more introspective and creative view of the world.
I can tutor subjects from grade 5-12 (excluding calculus), and I focus mainly on mathematics and writing. I can also help review college essays and tutor with ACT prep.

- I can teach middle school and high school math (excluding calculus). I specialize in Algebra 1, 2 and Geometry.
- I can teach reading and writing, including grammar and essay writing. I can also proofread essays.
- I can do ACT prep and I specialize in ACT math and ACT reading.
- I also do college prep: I can look over college applications and help with resumes and personal essays
My lessons will differ depending on the type of subject the student wants to learn. My first session will be focused on getting to know the student and their goals so I can create a personalized lesson plan dedicated to the student's needs.
