About Maria
Hello! My name is Maria and I am a current honors senior in college studying biology and Spanish. I am excited to say that I will be attending medical school this fall! I have experience as a private tutor, teaching assistant, and as an America Reads Mentor. I additionally work as a biomedical researcher studying enzymatic biosensors at my university. I am the president of the Pre-Medical Society and secretary of the Greek Club at my school. My hobbies include painting, cooking, and swimming. Fun fact about me: in addition to Spanish, I also speak Greek!

I have experience tutoring elementary through college students. I offer hands-on and creative lesson plans to encourage learning. Active learning benefits students the most so I work on many practice problem with my clients to make sure they feel confident and prepared to tackle upcoming exams. I adapt to my students' learning styles and provide other supplemental media to immerse them in their coursework such as fun videos, worksheets, and diagrams.
