About Yulia

I'm teaching Russian for more than 6 years now and in the beginning of my career I was using a traditional methodology. I believed that the most famous authors and books were supposed to be good enough, however I was much mistaken when coming upon some inconsistencies and artificial language. I almost gave up that career back then because I couldn’t imagine teaching something that didn’t really work in a real life.

I've always wanted my students to speak a real and not that strange artificial language from the books. Luckily after searching something that could attend to my expectations, I’ve found this new innovative methodology that really made a huge difference in a way of teaching Russian. I will be very happy to share this with you.

About the lesson

I'm using a different innovative methodology which is not yet so common in teaching Russian, but already proved to be much more effective, clear and logical then the traditional methods.

Originally this methodology has been developed for short-term courses for foreigners, who were supposed to use Russian at work and therefore needed to reach a really good level of the spoken Russian language in a very short time in order to pass the test of Russian as a foreign language and be ready to work with native speakers of Russian.

However, the methodology proved to be highly efficient also for those who were having lessons just 1 to 3 hours per week.

And why this method is different and so effective?

First of all due to the authentic (original) language. One of the biggest problems of most traditional methods and books is that in order to simplify the language, the artificial language is used most of the time which breaks completely the logic of the language.

The second but not less important is the order and structure of the material. You see, the problem I've described above appears when the logical order of grammar is broken. As if you tried to learn mathematics of different levels without following the logical order of the topics.

Another important point is that in order to avoid a "grammatical and lexical collapse" (when you know the language but don't really speak it), we only take the minimum that you can immediately make active use in real conversational situations.

There is no point to learn what won’t be needed in the near future and so will be forgotten quickly. We will focus on what is required in the real conversation according to your developing language skills. This way you will be able to really use in a conversation what you're learning and take much less time to do it.
