Familiar with French and Spanish. Born and raised in Italy, moved to NYC at the age of 19 and lived there for six years. New to Canada.

My teaching approach is a hybrid one: I combine grammar and vocabulary foundation (the ABC - literally and figuratively - of every language) with regular practice (conversation, listening, speaking, etc.), which helps you not only to become familiar and accustomed to the language but it also helps your mind to "subliminally absorb" the structure and use of the language, which, I can promise you, is the best way to become fluent in any language. Auditory and visual material (films, TV shows, comedy sketches, memes, etc.) will help familiarize the student not only with the language itself but also with the culture associated with it. Like Charlemagne said: "To speak a second language is to have a second soul".

Perfect! I had a fantastic experience with Martine! She was always punctual, had well-structured lessons with abundant materials, and made learning Russian easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend her as a Russian language tutor.
