About Ryan
I have been giving lessons since 2014. Under my tuition, one pupil achieved grade 1 piano distinction and has since gone onto achieve grade 5 piano distinction.
For performance, my specialties include romantic and jazz music. I have a love for romantic music because of how much joy can be taken fromexpressing your emotions and for the jazz era because of how such warm textures and sounds can be made from the piano.
I play many instruments as I play the trombone and euphonium as well and both I have achieved with grade 5. I played in the Irvine and Dreghorn Brass Band where I played 1st trombone and play a vast range of genres from popular to classical music. Most recently we finished 4th in the Scottish Brass Band Association Championships 2nd division in March 2020.

I am a student piano teacher. I am currently a BMus music student at Ulster University. I am now available for bookings!
I charge £15 per half hour or £30 per hour
My specialty is teaching those who are are in secondary school or are disadvantaged.
I passed my HND in Music with an A. I have played in a wide range of settings from rock, punk, and pop bands in college to classical, romantic, baroque, and modern solo piano.
My lessons are for people of all abilities on piano from beginners to grade 8 levels. My teaching style is to be respectful of the student's situation and to treat each student equally. Also, to provide a safe and secure place where the student can learn as possible. I would furthermore like to pass my passion for music and knowledge of music onto my students.
Regarding lesson plans, this depends on what level the student is at and what they want to achieve whether it be for fun or grade 8 piano.
My lessons generally start with a warmup depending on their ability. For example, a 30-minute lesson for beginners would include exercises for 5 minutes. Then, a classical song for 10 minutes followed by 10 minutes of a pop song.

Ryan is a great piano tutor he makes techniques and concepts easy to understand. He always makes the lessons fun and enjoyable by picking songs that you will enjoy but yet making it challenging to help you make constant progression.
Ryan is a very patient teacher & goes at the right pace for his students. He builds student confidence & recognises each student's progress. He makes lessons fun & still gets the results that students ate capable of . We were very pleased with how he guided my daughter through her grade 1 so successfully to make her want to continue her grades on & is now Grade 6!
