About Akimoto
Nice to meet you. I’m Hiroki, a Japanese tutor and digital nomad. I have 13 years of language teaching experience, over 3,200 lesson hours, and more than 300 learners taught across levels. Drawing on my self-taught English experience and on psychology and neuroscience, I help you build your learning from the ground up. You don’t need study abroad or special talent. With small changes to your daily life and environment, you can steadily acquire Japanese. If the first step feels scary or you don’t know where to begin, this is a space where mistakes are welcome and every question is safe to ask. When people feel safe, they try more, and language grows. It’s okay not to have everything figured out. If a question comes to mind, say it right there. I put safety from blame and criticism first.
