About Oliver

Hi! I'm a current senior student at Upper Canada College (IB) who achieved a 1590 on the SAT (with four consistent 1600s on official College Board practice tests) last year. I know exactly what it takes to excel on the SAT because I've done it myself—and I can help you do it too. To be transparent, I initially scored a 1470 in March—not bad, but certainly not my goal. However, from April through early June, I dedicated myself to a strategic, efficient two-month preparation plan built around four clear steps, dramatically improving my score. I did this simply with 4 straightforward and feasible steps (one of which is mentioned below). By the June test date, I confidently walked into that testing room knowing I'd achieve my target. Having personally experienced multiple SAT sittings and analyzed over 20 practice tests in detail, I’m highly confident that my approach can significantly enhance any student's score. The first step—regular test-day style practice under timed, pressured conditions targeting specific weaknesses—is a crucial element everyone must implement. I'd love to share my unique and complete four-step strategy in our sessions.

About the lesson

Here’s why my tutoring stands out: - Many tutors charge $200+ for outdated, ineffective methods, primarily focusing on completing an entire practice test with students. My approach is different: focused, efficient, and specifically tailored. In fact, I'd love to optimize digital contact tools we have today to boost your understanding even off-session, and be fully prepared for a 100% efficient class. - As a senior high school student who's recently experienced this process firsthand, I deeply understand both academic and psychological hurdles students face. I will offer practical guidance and unique pre-test habits to boost your confidence and test-day performance beyond simply knowing the content. - I’ve developed specialized worksheets based on real SAT past-paper questions combined with personally-tested guidelines and research-backed strategies—offered at no extra cost during our sessions. - Proven Results: I’ve successfully mentored younger students, including recently helping a grade 9 student improve from a 1180 to a 1440 (College Board practice tests) in just three weeks. Our goal is a 1560+ by the end of August.

Before being referred to Oliver, he always stood out as the 'smart guy', but I never truly understood how passionate and experienced he was in teaching SAT, as well as some of my other school subjects. The first time I did a practice test, I got a 1180. Oliver watched over my entire process with his own free time (not even during a lesson), and created an entire personalized handout for me on my weaknesses after. After a few weeks, I took the second college-board practice test and scored over 1400. Although he charges me regularly on classes, I cannot stress how important our weekly offline chats were. He always replies SO fast to my messages, and even calls me when I need assistance. To be honest, I've had a few classes with him, but I would say the offline time he spends creating materials, sending my questions, and chatting with me exceeds even the hours in class. Highly recommend - hopefully I improve again and get to that 1560.
