About Conor
In the space of three years, I developed a world class profile that resulted in acceptances to the three most selective universities in the world: Stanford, Harvard, and Columbia (and many more!). When I tutor, I take all the insights I've gained from my own applications and wield it to help my students maximize their chances of success as they apply to colleges of all levels, from local state schools to top universities! I tutor students looking to write exceptional college essays and achieve their best possible result in the SAT (whether that is a 1340 or a 1600). I also advise students about admissions strategy, extra-curricular profiles, interviews, and more - just reach out and book a session!

Before we start working together, I like to talk to the student and have them complete a couple of very short diagnostic tests so I can better understand the ways they learn, their strengths as we enter the process, and the areas that will require particular effort to improve.
Once I have this understanding, I tailor my lesson plans to cultivate the student and enable them to reach their fullest potential. I don't have a "typical lesson plan" as I believe that every student deserves to have a plan designed specifically for them.
That being said, during SAT tutoring, the student and I generally progress through three primary, overarching stages as we complete our lessons:
1. Foundation & Fundamentals - This accounts for approximately 80% of what a student needs to know as they enter the SAT. Without a solid basis, everything else is futile.
2. Timing & Strategy - One of the most common struggles for students in the SAT is actually completing the test within the strict time frame. I want to make sure that my students don't end up rushing their answers, guessing, or worse, leaving a question entirely blank.
3. Fine Tuning - Here we introduce the more advanced topics that account for only a narrow proportion of the paper. We also work on "tips and tricks" like recognizing phrasing in a question that may help rapidly eliminate choices or even immediately reveal a correct answer. This is what really enables a student to distinguish themselves from the pack and how they achieve their best possible score.
