About Tyler
I take teaching both seriously and fun, also being well organized, prepared, fully focused on your progress every lesson. Through my experience in these top orchestras, I understand both high-level expectations and how to help students reach them step by step. I want to create a structured, yet supportive and comfortable environment to be able to ask me questions and be able to make mistakes without worry. I tailor my lessons to your needs and help you grow with confidence as a player.

Teaching Method & Techniques
I focus on fundamentals first—tone, breath support, embouchure, and technique—then connect those to real music. I break concepts down clearly, model them, and have students apply them immediately. I use listening, imitation, slow practice, and goal-based repetition to build consistency. I also incorporate music theory and ear training so students understand what they’re playing, not just how.
Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson starts with a warm-up (long tones, scales, articulation), followed by technical work tailored to the student. Then we move into repertoire—solos, band music, or audition pieces—focusing on musicality and problem spots. I end with feedback, practice strategies, and clear goals for the next lesson so progress stays consistent.
What Sets Me Apart
I bring both high-level training and real performance experience from Juilliard MAP and youth orchestra. As a first chair player, I know what it takes to stand out. I also keep lessons supportive and motivating while still pushing for real improvement.
Who Lessons Are For
