About Tamiko
Hello! My name is Tamiko, I am a student at SBU majoring in Biochemistry. I graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA and I successfully completed AP courses in Calculus AB and BC, Precalculus, Biology, and Environmental Science, among others. Additionally in my high school career I was a TA in various math courses, providing one-on-one assistance when needed to break down difficult concepts to bring students at or above the performance level required. I have been tutoring in math for a handful of years among a wide range of math topics from Algebra 1 to Calculus AB. Please reach out with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!

In my sessions I value a student-centered approach, mainly using the I do, we do, you do strategy to give the student more control when learning. In addition, I like the teach back method, where the student explains the concept to display their understanding of the idea. Any holes in the explanation show us where we need to work on.
