About Kathleen
Clarity is the primary result of our time together. We begin with a diagnostic rating assessment to pin down your current baseline. Developing attacking play and positional understanding requires patience.
We will examine tactical patterns and piece coordination to refine your board vision. Opening principles provide the foundation for your defensive technique and long-term king safety. Consistent pattern recognition separates the average player from the winner. I will help you develop a competitive mindset that survives under pressure.

Precision feels like the quiet click of a wooden piece settling onto a dark square. Teaching offers a chance to translate 13 years of competitive play into clear instruction for beginners and club tournament contenders. My 17 years of experience inform every interaction with rated juniors. The Candidate Master title reflects my deep focus on the board.
Studying at the University of Sydney provided the analytical framework I now apply to coaching. Guiding a student through a complex endgame remains the most enjoyable part of my day.
