About PJ

I am a Science graduate of Trinity College Dublin, with experience teaching maths at primary and secondary level on a one-on-one and group lesson basis. I've been tutoring privately for over two years and have worked as a Science and Math teacher in Asia for several years as well. My greatest achievement to date is helping one student to go from failing their math class to an expected B grade. Through hard work and determination that student turned themselves around in a year and I'm proud to have been able to help in what way that I could.

About the lesson

I value flexibility and effort above all things and so am very open to adapting my teaching method to suit a students needs or desires. That said, in my experience, the best way to learn math is to do lots and lots of math, so students should expect most lessons to contain a lot of worked examples and practice questions. A standard lesson would probably consist of a 5-10 min review of the previous lesson and homework, followed by an introduction into the topic of the lesson, worked examples, guided practice and a brief lesson overview at the end, with additional questions given for homework.

Travel cost will be required for distances outside 2 km.
Cancellation policy: For lessons cancelled before 11pm the day before the lesson: no charge, a refund, or reschedule is fine, whichever is appropriate. Before 8am the day of the lesson, there will be a charge of a half hour lesson (£7.50). After 8am, a full hour's charge (£13).
