About Natalia
Hi, I’m Natalia, a dedicated and passionate maths and science teacher from Leeds with five years of experience working in high schools. Throughout my career, I have supported a wide range of students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and neurodivergent conditions, helping them to build confidence and achieve their full potential. I use proven teaching methods tailored to each student's unique learning style, making complex topics more accessible and engaging. My goal is not just to improve your maths skills, but to inspire a genuine enjoyment of the subject. I believe that with the right guidance, patience and encouragement, every student can succeed. Let’s tackle challenges together and turn maths into a subject you can feel confident in! When I’m not telling everyone how amazing maths is, I like to go hiking, bouldering and spend time with my own family. I also plan to do some further studying of my own this year as I have an interest in cyber security, which is also heavily maths based.

For students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), I emphasise individualised learning, using interactive and sensory activities to accommodate various learning styles. I strive to boost motivation by highlighting students' strengths and interests while introducing new concepts in an engaging way. My friendly and supportive teaching style aims to foster a passion for learning, especially in mathematics. For non-SEN students, I tailor lessons to focus on both strengths and areas for improvement. I regularly assess progress to identify knowledge gaps and build on existing strengths. I employ a variety of teaching methods, depending on the subject and topic being covered. My approach prioritises student-centred learning, incorporating a blend of guided instruction and heuristic methods. This encourages students to actively engage with problems, use critical thinking, and solve challenges through examples and experimentation. A typical lesson lasts 50 minutes, but I'm happy to be flexible based on your needs. Each session includes a recap of previous lessons, an introduction to a new topic, demonstrations, modelling, practice exercises, and the development of new skills.
