About Richard
I am a professional educator currently teaching 1:1 at Fusion Academy in Malvern, PA, where I support middle and high school students in science, math, and test preparation. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology with a minor in Biochemistry and bring a strong analytical background to my teaching. I am especially experienced working with neurodivergent students, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and executive functioning challenges.
Beyond the classroom, I have experience playing high-stakes poker on television, which has deeply influenced how I teach. Success in that environment requires disciplined thinking, emotional regulation, and clear decision-making under pressure—skills I intentionally model and teach to my students. Families appreciate my calm, structured, and supportive approach, and my goal is always to help students feel capable, confident, and in control of their learning.

My lessons are fully personalized and built around how each student learns best. I currently teach STEM 1:1 at Fusion Academy, where I work with middle and high school students across science, math, and test preparation, including many learners with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and executive functioning challenges. This experience has shaped a highly structured, neurodivergent-friendly approach focused on clarity, patience, and confidence-building.
Each session begins by identifying specific goals, reviewing errors or misconceptions, and breaking material into clear, manageable steps. I emphasize strategy, pattern recognition, pacing, and calm decision-making—skills that are critical for academic success and high-stakes exams.
In addition to my teaching background, I have experience playing high-stakes poker on television, where success depends on disciplined thinking, emotional regulation, and performing well under pressure. I bring these same principles into my lessons, helping students learn how to think strategically, manage stress, and approach tests and coursework with confidence rather than panic.
Lessons are structured, supportive, and engaging, combining visual models, guided practice, and real-world examples to help students become independent, confident learners.
