About Adam
I have over seven years of tutoring experience, specializing in college preparation, math, science, and the humanities. I have worked with students of all ages - middle school, high school, and college - and also have experience working with special needs students. I am currently a high school teacher at Cal Coast Academy, where I teach science and math, including AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and AP Calculus BC, and Computer Programming.
I graduated from Mission Viejo High School with a full International Baccalaureate diploma, ACT score of 35 (SAT equivalent of 1560), and a 4.89 GPA. I was a Regents Scholar at UCLA, an academic scholarship awarded to the top 100 students of each incoming class, as well as a UCLA Alumni Scholar. I also tutor for the MCAT - I received a score of 519 (97th percentile).

Often there is a disconnect between the teacher and the student, which severely impedes learning and comprehension. As a tutor, it is my job to bridge this gap through understanding the unique learning style of each individual student. I also firmly believe that there is not enough emphasis on understanding material - students are often required to memorize information without a fundamental understanding of what they are memorizing, which can be detrimental in analytical subjects such as math, chemistry, and physics.
