About Sophie
Secondary science teacher currently on maternity leave.
I began my science career doing a master's degree in forensic science. I loved how interesting the subject is and doing all the practical work including lab work.
When I graduated I worked as a teaching assistant and moved into teaching and enjoyed it immediately, combining the knowledge I have from my degree to the curriculum allows me to make the content enjoyable for students as well as informative.
Ensuring my students achieve good grades is important to me as well as preparing them for exams and teaching them how to answer exam questions, analysing what the question is asking and using applying your knowledge.

I’m a secondary science teacher with experience teaching from years 7-11 mainly. I have taught both foundation and higher level in OCR and AQA exam boards.
I also have experience as a SEND teaching assistant based in science lessons.
I always try to make my lessons engaging and enjoyable for students so that they not only learn, but gain a better understanding and appreciation for the subject.
