About Dylan
I have a BSc in science teaching, an MSc in climate change, and a PhD in remote sensing and forestry (I used satellites from space to analyze forest health and growth). I am passionate about teaching, sharing knowledge, and enjoy seeing students learn new skills! I am very relaxed, open, and detail-oriented. In addition to my teaching background, I have also tutored students for junior cert math, leaving cert science, 2nd year of college Physics, and postgraduate data analytics in R. My PhD was focused on integrating earth observation data into the company's workflows to improve forest management. This included; detecting nutrient deficiency in spruce forests using multispectral satellite imagery and creating an early warning system, investigating how the size of an area affects the variance estimation of LiDAR derived forest parameters, and creating a script to map the area and determine the severity of forest fires using satellite imagery. My expertise includes but is not limited to exploratory data analysis, data visualization, statistical analysis, data modeling, big data, and data science. I'm very comfortable working with R, RStudio, QGIS, and bash.

I have a BSc in science teaching from University of Limerick. My teaching approach is to guide the learner to the answer rather than telling them/showing them the answer. I focus on a clear understanding of the fundamentals rather than specific to answer a certain question(s). This approach allows the learner to gain a clear understanding that can be applied to multiple scenarios. First lesson is to get an understanding of what you want, if I can provide what you want, and if you think I would be a good tutor. It is free and should last approximately 30 mins.
