About Ameillia

Hi, I'm Ameillia! I'm currently studying A-Level Science (Biology, Chemistry and Psychology) and applying to study Medicine, so science has always been a huge part of my life — and I love helping others find that same interest in it, especially when it starts to click for them.

I achieved 9s at GCSE and have been tutoring for 3 years, helping students build confidence and improve their grades significantly. I've worked with a range of students, including those with SEN (special educational needs), and I always adapt my approach to suit how each student learns best. I'm DBS checked and safeguarding trained, so parents can feel completely reassured.

Outside of tutoring, my own experience going through GCSEs recently means I understand the pressure students are under and what actually helps — not just in theory, but from having been there myself.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Ameillia! I'm currently studying A-Level Science and achieved 9s at GCSE, so I understand exactly what's needed to do well at both GCSE and primary level science — and I remember what actually helped it click for me.

My approach: I focus on building real understanding rather than just memorising facts. I break topics down into simple steps, use everyday examples to explain trickier concepts, and check in regularly with questions to make sure it's actually sinking in — not just skimmed over. I also like to link topics to past exam questions so students get comfortable with how things are actually asked in GCSE papers.

Lesson length: Lessons typically run for 45–60 minutes, though I can adapt this depending on the student's age, attention span, and what we're covering that week.

Experience: I have been tutoring for 3 years now and I have a strong, up-to-date understanding of the GCSE and primary curriculum, having gone through it myself recently and successfully. This means I know the common sticking points and exactly how to explain them clearly.

Who it's for: I tutor primary school pupils looking to build strong science foundations, as well as GCSE students wanting to improve their understanding, confidence, and grades. Lessons are tailored to each student's level and pace, whether they need help catching up or want to push for top grades.
