About Jason
I am a 32-year-old French freshly arrived in Canada. I have always been interested in science, but it was when I started university that I truly understood how much it helps us understand how our world is functioning. I studied Earth Sciences before switching to Planetology for my second Master's degree and did a Ph.D. in Astrophysics. I love sharing knowledge. During my first years at one university in Paris, I gave private lessons to high school students. During my Ph.D., I was selected to teach physics for 3 years to natural science students. Since then, I have been involved in numerous organizations to promote science outreach, especially to children. I worked as an astrophysicist in France and Spain. A few years ago, my wife and I decided that our next venture would be to move to Canada. In parallel, as my awareness of environmental issues grew, I decided to focus my attention back on our planet and continued doing science in France but in Earth Observation. I am now working for a Canadian environmental company whose aim is to help our ecosystems to recover their natural health. I'd be glad to help new students build their own interests in science and critical thinking that will prepare them for their future challenges.

- Mistakes are valuable. I use them to identify and make the student understand where their logic failed. I aim to build logical thinking ready to solve any problem. - I believe science is more than equations and numbers: it makes you better understand our world, so I strive to find/make exercises linked to the student's interests. - A typical lesson plan: I like the student to have tried before the lesson, so we can both understand what is missing, or what we can improve together. Between lessons, I can prepare more exercises or review what the student did. - I am patient, I do not give up, and I focus on the successes rather than the failures to give the student their confidence back.
