My approach to teaching focuses on helping students make sense of rhythm, timing, and musical direction while they play. Many difficulties arise when these elements are unclear, even when practice is regular.
Lessons are one on one and shaped around the student’s current ability and pace. A typical class involves listening closely, playing small sections, slowing things down when needed, and working with simple material until it feels connected and stable.
I pay close attention to posture, timing, sound, and how a student approaches practice. These factors often influence progress more than the amount of material covered. The intention is to build continuity and confidence over time.
These classes are suitable for beginners, adults returning to the guitar after a break, and players who know some basics but feel that their playing remains fragmented.
