About Mia
Hi! A bit about me, I have always enjoyed a wide range of subjects in school (not just science!). However, I often found school quite challenging as I struggled to study well and independently. It is now one of the reasons I am so motivated to tutor so as to try and help my students find study methods that work for them and also allow them to feel empowered and confident in their learning.

All students are capable of doing well and achieving their goals in Chemistry. However, it's a subject that is easy to feel lost in and small gaps can feel insurmountable, something that can be hard to get help with in school. All students are different and finding what helps each of them understand will make Chemistry feel easy.
My lessons are organised to work on building foundations in concepts my students are struggling in.
I offer tutoring for GCSE and A-level Chemistry.
Typical lesson length I would offer is 45 minutes to 2 hours, I know from experience that many students work better with more focused, shorter sessions and some prefer to spend more time working through things.
Homework can be discussed with the student and parents and be set in a way that's helpful and manageable. I am a firm believer that for tutoring to be helpful it shouldn't stress you out or feel overwhelming.
I have tutored before in the past and have also spent a year working at a special educational needs school. I learnt a lot about communication and understanding people's individual needs.
I am currently a second year student at the University of Nottingham with a first class grade average.
