I believe in visual explanations which especially helps visualize difficult concepts making them more memorable and easy to understand. Practice and consistency also helps and each large problem can be worked towards in smaller exercises. The quantity of work done is never as important as the quality and I believe if an important concept in understood in a shorter amount of time, the better it is.
