About Hilary

My name is Hilary, and I am a second-year nursing student with a strong academic foundation in math, science, reading, and writing. I am passionate about helping elementary students (K–6) build confidence, improve their understanding of core subjects, and develop strong study habits that support long-term success in school.

My teaching approach is patient, structured, and supportive. I focus on breaking down concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps and adapting my explanations to each student’s learning style. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, so I create a calm and encouraging environment where questions are always welcome.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by focused teaching of one key concept, guided practice, and independent practice to reinforce learning. I make sure students fully understand the material before moving on, and I adjust pacing based on their needs.

What sets me apart is my background in nursing, which has strengthened my communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to stay patient under pressure. I bring these qualities into every lesson to ensure students feel supported, capable, and motivated.

I work with elementary students who need support in math, reading, writing, science, or general homework help, and I aim to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
