About Jane
All of my 5 years of post-high school studies was in the field of Education. My first job after College graduation was as a Middle School teacher, teaching 8th and 9th graders. I taught kindergarten and First grade Sunday School for three years.

I will treat each student with compassion and respect, being part tutor, part parent or aunt, part mentor. I can be both gentle and firm. I will focus on helping each student want to read well. It would give me great pleasure to give students a book to keep often, so they have something that belongs to them, something of their very own. As a starting point I would get any test results which put them at a below average level. I would use flash cards to aid in becoming familiar with the alphabet. If my meeting was with 2 or 3 students at one time, I would ask them to take a turn reading 2 or 3 sentences, and then ask the others to comment, but never, never to criticize. I would be very good teaching all levels from Kindergarten through College.
