About Jay
University of Bristol graduate, secondary school teacher of Cambridge IGCSE, AS Level and AP Economics.
I enjoy teaching economics because I like helping students understand how the subject connects to real-world issues. My aim is to make difficult topics easier to understand and help students become more confident in both their knowledge and exam technique.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are suitable for GCSE, IGCSE and AS/A-Level Economics students.
My lessons are clear, structured and tailored to each student’s needs. I use PowerPoint presentations, simple explanations, diagrams, real-world examples and exam-style questions, with a strong focus on exam technique and improving written answers.
I have a degree in Economics, and experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE, AS Level and AP Economics at international schools. I also have experience supporting students with different ability levels and students who speak English as a second language.

Mr. Jay is a teacher of real depth—someone who can bring you plenty of surprises. When I first met him, I could clearly tell that he was rather reserved. But after actually taking his class, I found that he not only has a solid command of his subject, but is also genuinely good at connecting with students. What I mean is, as long as you're willing, there's a very good chance you'll end up having many interesting conversations with him, and that makes the classroom atmosphere—which could easily have been dull—completely different. As for who he is as a person, he's actually very well-rounded. Not only does his knowledge cover a wide range of areas, but even in casual conversation you can tell that he has many different interests. That kind of vitality and depth is something other teachers simply can't bring—I'm quite sure of that. As for our shared experience, I'd like to start with his teaching style. I remember he put a lot of care into making his PowerPoint slides, tailoring specific tips to students' levels and different language backgrounds. And probably because he realized the students were quite young, he would also add memes or slang to his slides, which showed his sense of humor. I should also add that he is not a hot-tempered teacher; on the contrary, he is gentle most of the time. As long as you basically follow the classroom rules and respect him, there won't be any problems at all. Finally, I want to say that Jay is a teacher with solid expertise, and at the same time he is very humorous, versatile, and full of potential. If you haven't taken his class, then I truly feel sorry for you.
Jay is a very caring teacher for his students. He is responsible for the content delivered in every class, and he always makes sure the students are following. I feel very motivated to learn economics and business just because of my favorite teacher, Jay!
