About Barbara
I am a native French speaker with a PGCE and QTS, and a DAEFLE qualification from the Alliance Française. I moved to England 20 years ago, but I have maintained strong ties to French culture. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring French to adults, students, and children. My background includes working as a teaching assistant in primary and secondary schools, teaching at the University of the Arts London, running a French after-school club, and teaching French in secondary schools.
I currently teach A Level French in London. As a mum of three children, I bring a nurturing and relatable perspective to my teaching.
Additionally, I have worked in various sectors, including copywriting, marketing, and finance, where I’ve utilised my French, English, and Spanish language skills extensively.

I am a fully-qualified (PGCE and QTS) French teacher with PGCE and QTS. I currently teach in a secondary school in London. I enjoy building positive relationships with students, understanding their needs, and creating engaging, structured lessons where they can thrive. I strive to instil a love for French culture and language using a communicative approach and authentic learning materials, and LOTS of songs!! For GCSE and A-Level preparation, I focus on building key reflexes for success through past papers, tips, grammar and vocabulary revision, and improving written work to help students achieve their best. Regular assessments and detailed feedback means that my students make really quick progress :)
