About Gabriella

I am a qualified secondary school Geography teacher, with a degree in Geography with Quantitative Methods and a Master’s degree in Geographical Information Sciences. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of both physical and human geography, as well as the quantitative, analytical and geographical skills needed to succeed at GCSE and beyond.

Alongside my classroom teaching experience, I have experience providing one-to-one Geography tutoring to students with a range of abilities. I am particularly confident in helping students develop their understanding of complex geographical concepts, apply knowledge to unfamiliar questions, interpret data and geographical information, and strengthen their exam technique.

My background in quantitative methods and GIS also allows me to bring a strong analytical approach to Geography. I can support students with geographical data, maps, graphs, statistics, fieldwork and the interpretation and evaluation of geographical evidence.

As a teacher and GCSE examiner, I understand the demands of the secondary Geography curriculum and what is required to achieve strong results in exams. I tailor lessons to each student, whether they need support with specific topics, revision, exam preparation, essay structure, case studies or building their confidence in the subject.

My aim is to make Geography engaging, accessible and relevant while helping students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to become successful independent learners.

About the lesson

My Geography lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are looking to improve their subject knowledge, prepare for exams, or develop greater confidence in the subject.

As a qualified secondary school teacher, I use a clear and structured approach to help students understand geographical concepts and apply their knowledge to exam questions. Lessons can include explaining key content, working through case studies, analysing maps, graphs and data, developing geographical terminology, and practising exam-style questions.

I place a strong emphasis on developing students’ ability to think like a geographer rather than simply memorising information. My degree in Geography with Quantitative Methods and Masters degree in Geographical Information Sciences have given me strong analytical and data-handling skills, which I bring into my teaching where relevant.

I can support students with secondary-level, GCSE and A-Level Geography, including physical and human geography, geographical skills, fieldwork, data interpretation, case studies and exam technique.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although this can be adapted depending on the student’s age, level and individual requirements. My aim is for every student to leave each lesson with a clearer understanding of the subject and greater confidence in applying their knowledge independently.
