About Seamus

During my own schooling and university I started off as the student struggling to pay attention and do the required homework, before arriving at the studious top of the class student in my final years of university, so I empathize and understand how both the struggling and thriving students feel. Perhaps because of this, I'm passionate about helping students using proven teaching techniques acquired through a Master of Teaching, strong mathematical skills and inherent emotional intelligence. I believe in high expectations for all students at all levels, while backing this up with strong support and direction where needed. There are no 'bad kids', only those that face different challenges and require varied support. With my experience both in the secondary school classroom teaching students and volunteer work leading child charity groups on weekend camps, I'm confident I will be the right tutor for you. Can't wait to get started!

About the lesson

I'm passionate about helping students using proven teaching techniques acquired through a Master of Teaching, strong mathematical skills and inherent emotional intelligence. Techniques such as providing models, checking for understanding and breaking problems down into smaller steps often get overlooked in class. Using these techniques and many more, combined with developing professional relationships with students I'm able to tailor lessons for individuals who may face challenges in paying attention, staying motivated or comprehending the content.
