About Sky
After graduating university with a first-class degree in Business and Management I moved into the corporate world ... but I wanted more. I turned to teaching in the hopes of having more of a direct impact on people achieving their full potential and have never looked back. Of course my distinction level teaching qualification (PGDE) can reassure you that I'm good at what I do. But I believe qualifications are only half of what makes a great tutor. The other half is someone that is an empathetic listener, that understands the key strengths and potential limitations of a pupil, that is adaptable to ever-changing needs of the pupils in front of them, that knows how to stretch and challenge pupils in a comfortable and confidence-building environment. That is also me.

My approach to tutoring is simple. I want to build confidence and ability through personalised and dynamic lessons that enhance your learning experience at school. As a secondary school maths teacher that has taught in many major cities including London and Birmingham, I understand the ever-growing pressure on pupils in the classroom. With class sizes relentlessly increasing, it is becoming harder and harder to get the one-to-one support we so often need to make sure we excel and reach our full potential. Every lesson with me is tailored to your individual needs to ensure you are getting the most from your sessions. For some people, that is support with the fundamentals of algebra so that they are able to keep up in the maths classroom. For others, it's mastering exam technique so that they feel confident and prepared when walking into the exam hall for their GCSE. I firmly believe that tutoring should complement your schooling, not compete with it. I have a deep understanding of how the maths curriculum is taught and staged across KS3 and KS4, so am able to customise and align the work we do to support the work done at school. I firmly believe that no one should underachieve in Maths because they didn't have access to the essential one-to-one support that they deserve.
