About Paul
With over 11 years of experience teaching Maths in a secondary school, I’ve had the privilege of supporting students across both Foundation and Higher GCSE pathways. Over that time, I’ve learned that confidence is often the key that unlocks a student’s true potential — and helping them build that confidence is at the heart of my teaching.
I work to show students that they can achieve far more than they first believe. By breaking concepts down clearly, exploring the “why” behind the methods, and building depth of understanding rather than surface-level recall, I help learners grow into automatic, independent thinkers. My aim is not just to prepare students for their exams, but to nurture a love of learning that stays with them long after Year 11 — carrying them forward into their chosen careers and beyond.
I teach with patience, encouragement, and a genuine belief in every student’s ability to succeed. Watching learners realise they are capable of more than they imagined is the most rewarding part of my job.

My teaching style is centred on building confidence, clarity, and genuine understanding in every student I work with. Specialising in Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE Maths, I focus on helping learners move beyond memorising the basics and instead develop a deep, secure grasp of the ideas behind the methods. I break topics down in a way that feels accessible and logical, guiding students step by step until they can explain the reasoning for themselves.
Whether a student is aiming for a pass or pushing towards the top grades, my approach is always supportive, patient, and tailored to their needs. I work to create an environment where mistakes are part of learning, questions are encouraged, and progress feels achievable. My goal is simple: to help students feel capable, confident, and ready to succeed in their GCSE exams.
